LDS 911-CT
Coil Leak Detection System
Accuracy and Reproducibility Specs

LDS statistically measures system performance for every leak detection system as compared to the customer's requirements as follows:

The data is collected from a minimum of (10) ten good product samples. These samples are run through the automatic leak detector (3) three times to measure the test equipment repeatability (gauge variation) and the percent of tolerance consumed by the gauge. The gauge is defined as the entire 911-CT leak detection system and all associated components.

The data listed below represents two machines built for Carrier Corporation. The data collected was used to measure each machines repeatability and the combined reproducibility and repeatability of both machines.

The customer specifications required a leak rate limit of 1.2 x 10-5 cc/sec and a percent of tolerance consumed by the entire 911-CT leak detection system and all associated components (gauge) not to exceed 20%.

The test results indicated the entire 911-CT leak detection system and all associated components (gauge) has a 6.8% of tolerance and a 15.1% of tolerance consumed by the measurement variability of the (2) two 911-CT leak detection systems and all associated components (gauges).

Other statistics indicated the gages are in statistical control. The gauge repeatability is within 1.0 x 10-7 cc/sec well below the customer specification.

The background leak rate was measured to be 1.1 and 1.2 x 10-6 cc/sec. This meets the LDS helium background criteria of one decade less than the customer specification or a signal to background ratio of (10) ten.

There is a global helium shortage. Each time an MRI is performed, helium is used. Please rethink your helium balloon purchase.
